

Upon successful completion of the program, a graduate will:ĭifferentiate the purposes and functions of and the relationships between various elements within the structure of the fashion industry in order to identify business opportunities, challenges and solutions.ĭefine and use correctly the terminology and language of fashion from a business and art perspective in order to communicate effectively with the range of stakeholders in the fashion industry. In second year, students build on the skills developed on the foundation with wholesale sales, retail buying and operation, photo styling and event planning and budgeting.

In first year, courses in the business of fashion – marketing strategies, product knowledge, trend forecasting and web merchandising – give students an overview of this multibillion-dollar industry. Our advisory committee provides regular review and input of curriculum ensuring our program is always on the cutting edge of industry developments. These skills are then applied to product launches, planning merchandise assortments, styling fashion shoots and the production of fashion events. You’ll also learn fashion trend forecasting, sales techniques, and colour and styling analysis while attaining basic knowledge of fashion products and fashion promotion. You will study marketing, store planning and merchandising, brand management, marketing, social media, event planning, and retail buying. His most recent solo exhibition, in February 2018 at Kelsey Michaels Fine Art in Laguna Beach, California, included his large-scale homage to Kazimir Malevich’s 1912-1913 painting The Knife Grinder (The Glittering Edge), as well as the collage work used in Rei Kawakubo’s 2018 Paris Men’s Fashion Week show. Touchon has exhibited his work extensively in both solo and group shows in North America and Europe, including the Venice Biennial in 20. His work is in many corporate and several major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Tate Modern in London. He has been featured in dozens of exhibition catalogues, magazine articles, and scholarly publications. He is also a member of the Massurrealist Society and founder of the La Sociedad Massurrealista de Mexico. Touchon is the founder and director of the International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction and co-founder of the International Post-Dogmatist Group. It makes my imagery familiar in an ambient way in the general culture and after all, with all of the collage artists using magazine material in their art now a days that is fashion being turned into art.Ĭecil Touchon was born in Austin, Texas and attended both North Texas State University in Denton and the University of Texas at Arlington.
